the treehunter I wanted to go hunting trees. Not mushrooms, but the big fellows in the woods. Nothing better than the Black Forest in the south of Germany, which happens to be the region I come from. I had a flashlight mounted on my camera and walked deep into the dark. An intruder into the trees intimacy. The flashlights merciless qualities helped discover the state of affairs. But at the same time its little power compared to a forests size made me photograph one or two trees in a frame. Details even, not more. As a matter of fact, they didn’t expect to be photographed. Some of them seem not pleased, angry even and trying to hide, others surprised or ashamed of their nakedness. Some look very sad about being caught and disturbed in maybe the last days of their existence Printed on Epson Traditional Photo Paper with Epson Ultrachrome inks. Actual size : 15/20 cm on 21/30 cm paper. A choice of 32 pictures, realized in 2008.
